Penelope Dixon has 30 years of experience in fine art photography including positions at the auction houses of Phillips Son & Neale and Argus, Ltd., both in Manhattan. She has served on the boards of a number of arts organizations as well as given lectures and contributed to many books and articles relating to fine art photography. She is currently an active member on the board of the Appraisers Association of America and is the author of Photographers of the Farm Security Administration: An Annotated Bibliography. Penelope has participated in panel discussions on the topics of appraising and collecting of photographs. Among these are talks at the Houston Museum of Art, The Center for Photography at Woodstock, The New School for Social Research, New York City, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, The Sun Valley Center for the Arts and the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto. She holds a B.A. Degree in Visual Communications, American University, Washington, DC (l970) and M.A. Degree in Liberal Studies, City University of New York, New York City (1990).
