CAROLINA DE PANFILIS
Miami, FL
I feel fascinated when I get close to easel and I see my tools of work: brushes, paint tubes and canvas, and knowing that once I take them in my hands I will feel the pleasure of the immediateness of a paint stroke with the anticipation that with them I will break the white surface of the canvas. I like the feeling, so much, that with those gestures I can get away from the rules and to feel the sensation that not all is controlled in the universe, and more so, if I am lucky, the final result of my work could be something where there could and astonishing balance of space and colors.
I cannot explain my work, I can only say that they are born out of the simplicity, of the emotion and the thoughts, and behind of each painting there has been sleeplessness, displeasure and satisfaction. I do not wish to explain my work as I do not want to put "leg irons" to any interpretation.
