Engelina Zandstra is a Dutch artist living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Over the years she followed many courses, workshops and private lessons in the field of painting and other disciplines.

Otherwise she is autodidact, by a lot of exercising and carefully looking she developed her own style.She has exhibited regularly throughout in the Netherlands, and abroad in Belgium, Germany and Hungary, in both collective and individual exhibitions.

Engelina's work can best be described as lyrical-abstract. Colour is very important for her, the alchemy of colour. It defines for her the atmosphere of a painting.She works in many thin layers of acrylic paint on top of each other, which give it depth and character.

Her paintings are "Landscapes of the Mind", because they are the reproductions of images stored in her imagination. In a more figurative work, there sometimes can be seen two or more human figures that symbolizes for her human relationships.
