JULIA STEVENS

As a Florida Native, I began my love for painting outdoors at the age of 4 on the banks of the St. Johns River in Northeast Florida, where I was encouraged to paint what I saw. I graduated from Florida Southern College, in Lakeland, Florida with a BA in Fine Art. And began teaching art for the Broward School District in the seventies. I am currently living in Plantation, Florida.

For the past several years, I have returned to my love of painting the great outdoors. Wherever I find myself, I find my studio and paint “en plein aire“. Working mostly in oils and watercolors, I love to capture the light in a field, through the trees, reflected in the water or just brushing the petal of a flower.
