Susie has been painting for some thirty years and now works from her small studio in Farnham Surrey in the UK. She gained her degree in Fine Art Printmaking from The West Surrey College Of Art And Design in 1981 and has since worked on commissions and exhibited worldwide.
Susie is a full member of The Society Of Floral Painters and mainly works in Watercolour. She has a particular fascination for, and skill in capturing flowers and the inter-relationships of plants in their natural habitat. Poppies, Lilies, Clematis and Anemones figure predominately in her work, and she is particularly concerned with capturing the close-up aspect, colour and fine detail found in nature.
Susie’s reputation is also growing for her work in artistically replicating shop fronts and houses for private commission. She claims to have a fascination for painting bricks!. Certainly working with such diverse subject matter keeps her work fresh and challenging, and maybe partly why her paintings so often sing with vibrancy.
