Roxene Sloate holds a BA in Art History from Smith College. She has studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, the New York Art Students League for five years, and withGraham Nickson, Miroslav Antic, Philip Pearlstein, Timothy Hawksworth and Dennis Aufiery. She is membership chair of the National Association of Women Artists-Florida. She is also a member of the Boca Museum Artists Guild.
In the 1970's and 1980's she poured paint to create abstract landscapes and flowers. Since moving to Florida she became engaged with pleine aire painting and portraits. At present she has been involved in a series of "ocean" paintings, some made at the beach and others explored in her studio.
