CRAIG PEYTON
Billings, NY
Aerials offer a unique perspective, and ability to compress large complex areas, reduced to common tones and textures. The rhythm of earth and sky easily translate to photos and music. Motion cameras let you bob and weave through a subject, promising the restless eye new information. Stills are much more direct, confronting you with a single frame. I try to find what I love most with these patterns, and reduce them to a single image.
Expanding from music to film, to still photography, Peyton has charted a creative course. Peyton's production, writing, and arranging skills contributed to many music hits. (including Peyton's own #1 charting AC release, "Latitude, 40 Degrees North").
In the 80's and 90's Peyton worked with artists including James Brown, Melba Moore, Nona Hendryx, Michael Brecker, and Levon Helms, and more recently has contributed underscore for TV shows such as “Friends”.
A 5,000 hour instrument rated pilot, Peyton learned the craft of aerial cinematography, and combined his passion for flying, filming, and music. His aerial cinematography clips have contributed to many films like "Along Came Polly" with Ben Stiller, "The Punisher" with John Travolta, "Storm" with Luke Perry, "Island of Doctor Moreau" with Marlon Brando, "What the Bleep" with Marlee Matlin, and numerous music videos including JayZ, Beyonce, and TLC.
