PETER HEUSCHER

Born in Zurich (Switzerland) 1943, I started my education with an apprenticeship in an advertising agency, marketing and design which led after years of working to my own Management- and Marketing Consultancy which worked for Swiss and International companies.

Painting in Oil and Watercolours since age 25, I had to suspend my passion for painting for my family and my professional career. But all the years, painting, photography, underwater-Video and architecture were hobbies whenever there was time and became vital again after early retiring early 2000.

Traveling the world to places like the US, Bahamas, Cayman Island, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia and some of the most beautiful places in Australia opened my awareness for nature and inspired me for my creative work. After visiting Australia for several times, we (my partner and me) realized a life-long dream to immigrate to Australia and we are living on the Sunshine Coast since 2000.

During the years, I started to study the work and techniques of several famous artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, E. John Robertson (famous for his seascapes) USA and many others, but my artwork (self-thought) is mostly done by intuition and experimenting with different techniques.

I picked the brush up again a few years ago and became a full time artist, creating painting in Oil, Acrylics and mixed media. Since then, I finished more than 180 paintings exhibited in Galleries in Sydney, on the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and from 2009 also in the US.

Some of my favorites are Flower Close-ups, Land- and Seascapes and Abstracts but I am constantly challenged by new impressions and try to refine the techniques.
